About the Gov Transparency Project
We follow the money and track the votes — turning public federal data into plain-language accountability journalism.
Our mission
The Gov Transparency Project is an independent, non-partisan publication. We translate primary-source government data — federal spending, the national debt, Federal Reserve economic indicators, and congressional activity — into clear analysis any citizen can read.
Independence & disclaimer
Gov Transparency Project is not a government website and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the U.S. government or any federal agency.
Data sources
Our figures come directly from public APIs and official releases, including:
- FRED — Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis economic data
- U.S. Treasury Fiscal Data
- Congress.gov
- Bureau of Labor Statistics
Methodology
Economic indicators and charts are refreshed on a daily schedule via automated jobs and rendered from a cached snapshot, so figures are as current as the most recent refresh. See the Data & Methodology page for the full series list.
